LIFE NEXUS aims to demonstrate a prototype for micro-hydraulic generation (35 kW) at the Porma drinking water treatment plant in León (Spain), based on the innovative integration of a Pump as Turbine (PaT) coupled to a battery storage. The new prototype will recover the energy currently dissipated by a Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) located at the entrance of the DWTP.
In parallel, it will be developed an integrated intelligent management system with a monitoring platform that will allow controlling the generation and use of energy.
